Started in 2022 initiative on developing a taxonomy of digital transformation projects based on ProDiT case studies is successfully concluded with a journal publication:
Tarannum, R. and Ngereja, B.J. (2025) ‘A structured taxonomy for effective digital transformation project implementation: Development, validation, and practical insights’, International Journal of Information Systems and Project Management (IJISPM), 13(1), pp. 1–26. Available at: https://doi.org/10.12821/ijispm130102.
The work on this ProDiT subproject was kicked off in the OpenCoP on “Managing the digital transformation (MDT): processes and tools handbook” led by Bertha Joseph Ngereja (Simulamet), who later became a supervisor (together with Bassam Hussein (NTNU) and Carsten Wolff (FH Dortmund)) of an excellent EuroMPM master student of Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Rahnuma Tarannum – a main author of the developed taxonomy. The taxonomy was developed in three iterations starting with a scoping review in June 2022, proceeding with a data collection from June 2023 to October 2023 involving case studies’ data from ProDiT partners. The authors would like to thank the project members for their dedication and contribution toward advancing a common understanding of Digital Transformation Projects.
