First Pilot Teaching of Erasmus+ ProDiT: Agile Virtual Cross-Border Projects

A first pilot teaching activity kicked off in April 2022 which focused on “Agile virtual cross-border projects” (part of the APODE educational package). 46 students and 3 teachers from FH Dortmund and UPV/EHU and 2 PhD students from KU Leuven and NTNU were actively involved in this pilot to create unique project-based learning (PjBL) experience in virtual settings. Accomplished in June 2022 teaching event, according to the evaluation, improved competences in project management and online cooperation, as well as international, intercultural, interdisciplinary, and digital skills of involved parties.

This teaching activity became an experiment with virtual cross-border student projects, where students assessed the methodology and the learning experience, including a supporting digital tool – student journey configurator. Besides, a conceptual model behind this experiment for the selection of projects and team roles (supported by personality tests and based on intended competence gains) was discussed in several semi-structured interviews with experts, mainly from ProDiT partner universities.

The results of these scientific, teaching and evaluation activities became a core part of the conference paper presented at the 25th International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Learning (ICL2022) “Learning in the Age of Digital and Green Transition” taking place on 28.-30.09.2022 in Vienna, Austria; the published version of it:
